UPDATE! - Underground Progress - 08/02/08

After finally playtesting up_underground and my experimental game mode I decided that underground would be better if it was just a normal "Push" game mode map.

I've already converted the map to push_underground and after I get a chance to playtest the beta I'll release that.

So don't bother downloading the old up_ version that's discontinued.

UPDATE - Done! - 07/28/08

UPDATE: I decided to just release the map and hopefully Valve will fix the particle thing later.

My new map up_underground is finally complete, but unfortunately thanks to how the Source engine handles custom particle files I can't release the map with working custom particle systems until they fix it.

I'll probably just release the first beta version of the map soon anyways even if the particles don't work since even if Valve does decide to fix the problem it will take forever.

In the meantime here's some screenshots:

Almost Done! - 07/17/08

I'm almost done with my remake of up_arena (aka up_arena_junglemix), its new name is up_archives for now. I'll probably think of a better name for it when I release the first beta version.

The majority of the remodeling is completed and I'll be releasing the beta version as soon as I'm happy with it, in the meantime here's a screenshot:

This will be the first map I've released with custom models that aren't just simple shapes or reskins of stock models, I made them and skinned them myself (Except for some I stole from other source engine games and reskinned) and also there are a lot of custom textures in the map too so expect some cool looking shit you've never seen before.

Map Update - air_gladiator_beta2 - 06/21/08

I updated air_gladiator_beta to beta2, now it has entities set up to enforce the rules by forcing class to pyro and a giant healing trigger over the map ensures that all weapons should be useless except the air blast. Except if you somehow manage a one-hit kill which shouldn't be possible.

New Map - air_gladiator_beta - 06/19/08

Here's a new map I whipped up, it's a map for use ONLY with Pyros and ONLY with the Air Blast altfire function of the flamethrower, try to push your enemies into the deadly acid at the bottom of the pit.

I don't know how well this map type will work so if people like it I'll fix it up later with better graphics and make any necessary tweaks to the layout.

New WIP Screenshot - 06/05/08

It's been a while since my last update so here's a work in progress screenshot of the remodeling of up_arena:

I recently got a new PC so hopefully that will mean that I can finish this map up quickly now. Also the lighting in the screenshot definitely isn't final so expect it to look less awful the next time you see it.
